Jeff Dean originally shared this post:
I'm very pleased to see that my friend and colleague +Urs Hölzle has been elected a foreign associate of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, for "contributions to the design, operation, and energy efficiency of large-scale data centers."

Urs has had tremendous influence on Google's operations, and it is his technical work and leadership at the datacenter and infrastructure level that allows Google to operate our myriad services used by more than a billion people (working with many others, of...

"Once you go ChromeOS, you'll never want to use anything else."

Wow, that's some strong endorsement!

Chromebook has actually become my primary laptop at work and my family's primary computer at home.  I admit: I like it more than I thought I would.

Four Generations of Chromebooks
#chrome   #chromeos   #chromebook

One of the greatest things about Chromebooks is that they get better with age, not just in terms of capability, but speed too. At work, I use the Samsung 550 Chromebook, and now I've got the light Samsung Chromebook at home. Of course, the original CR-48 model and the white Samsung 5 series do their own heavy lifting too. I just powered up all my devices to Chrome 26 on the Dev Unstable channel, because who doesn't like living on ...

Here's a shot I took on my first night in London a few weeks ago and I  was having fun with my new fish eye lens. The Clock Tower is over 150 years old, and houses the largest 4 face chiming clock in the world.  This was a tricky shot and lots of fun to put together!

Google+ Tip: Click on the image and press spacebar, it jumps to a full-screen version of the shot. This is new; one less step to get to full screen. Thanks Google+!
